'Blue Princess' has a broad, upright habit, up to 4m50 height. It is a highly branched shrub with an abundance of shiny red fruits. The branches are dark purplish black. The ovate to oval leaves are very dark green. This cultivar has a very dark appearance. This is partly caused by the dark branches. Certainly one of the most beautiful berry-bearing holly.

Holly grows in full sun, partial shade and shade, but requires a sufficiently moist, humus-rich soil. They do not like lime soil. Very wet soils are not suitable for holly.
Holly is very easy to cut and can be used as a solitary, in groups and as a hedge. Even the Romans already used holly to plant impenetrable hedges.
