Deep blue-green colour, more intense than Festuca glauca. Forms extremely decorative spherical, compact tufts of grass. For a spot in full sun in a well-drained soil. Very drought-tolerant. Inconspicuous white ears in June-July. Good winter hardiness to -15°C. Festuca is a short-lived grass. After 3 to 4 years it is best to divide the tuft of grass and replant the new parts.

Requires a light soil and a dry location. Good in combination with ground covers, low perennials, low shrubs and roses. Festuca grows slowly and does not proliferate.
