This is a very beautiful cultivar with dark purple-red flowers in thick, upright, multi-flowered ears. The plant remains very compact, and grows 20-25 cm high and no wider than 35 cm. It is a late bloomer among the Callunas, from August to mid-October. Recommended species. These richly flowering heather plants come into their own in rock or heather gardens, in large groups and in borders. Summer flowering and are therefore best pruned back annually in the spring just above the ground (15-20 cm). They fear lime and therefore require acidic soil. Therefore, it is best to mix acidic soil improver into the soil when planting. Planting distance: 35 to 40 cm, so 6 to 8 plants per m2.
